Moscow, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Ryabkov met with US Ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan.
The meeting aimed to shed light on several international issues. When talking about Afghanistan, both sides were on the same page. They mentioned that they don’t see any specific point of contention or source of friction or conflict. Rather, this is a fantastic example of how the two countries can work together. They talked about multilateral cooperation for the common good and to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan.
The US has long sought a comprehensive and cooperative relationship with Russia. Following the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the US pursued a bipartisan approach to foster international cooperation and foreign investment and trade. To enhance the foundations of stability and predictability, the US encouraged Russia’s entry into European and global organizations. Along with deepened bilateral collaboration in security cooperation.
