Vienna, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Akan Rakhmetullin met with the Head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Ghada Waly.
The two sides addressed bilateral and regional cooperation. The focus was on the next cycle of the Regional Program for Afghanistan which is expected to be signed before the end of the year. Kazakhstan’s commitment to international counter-narcotics cooperation was reaffirmed.
The development of the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center for Combating Drug Trafficking (CARICC) was also discussed. Along with CARICC’s leadership role in coordinating joint operations. CARICC had evolved into an excellent platform for coordinating counter-narcotics activities.
