New York (TDI): Ambassador Barbara Woodward, the UK envoy to UN, stated at the UN Security Council meeting regarding the maintenance of peace and security in Ukraine that “Russia Should end war immediately instead of sending the sons of other nations to die.”
Barbara also stated that when Russia invaded Ukraine about 1000 days ago, the General Assembly unequivocally condemned the action, denouncing Russia’s aggression in the harshest terms.
Only five nations opposed the vote, including the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Moreover, she stated that “Today, the DPRK’s support for Russia has intensified.” Pyongyang offers substantial assistance to Russia through the provision of munitions, arms, and other materials, and currently, 10,000 men have landed in Russia.
Furthermore, she stated that this collaboration between Russia and the DPRK not only facilitates Russia’s continued infringement of the UN Charter.
In addition, this collaboration also facilitates a UN Member State’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also constitutes a clear violation of several UN Security Council resolutions.

Barbara further underscored that Russia supported these resolutions. It now infringes upon them. This jeopardizes both world peace and security, as well as the integrity of the Security Council.
Council members have consistently denounced these infractions; still, the transfers persist. Stated Barbara
She further stated that the recent development, involving Russia’s training and deployment of DPRK troops, represents a substantial advancement for both nations.
She underscored that Russia has now incurred over 600,000 casualties.
She further added that “Rather than sacrificing the lives of foreign nationals for the imperialistic desires of a single individual, Russia Should end war immediately immediately.”
Moreover, it is asserted that Russia is not alone incurring the cost of this invasion in the deaths of young men. Defense and security will account for more than 40% of government expenditure in the upcoming year.
She asserted, “We can be certain that the DPRK will demand a substantial price from Russia in exchange for the deployment of its troops, including military support.”

She also stated that this poses a risk of exacerbating tensions on the Korean peninsula and compromising regional security in the Indo-Pacific.
Furthermore, Barbara asserted that a DPRK with advanced military technology and increased weapon export capabilities might exacerbate instability in susceptible conflict zones globally.
She additionally stated, “It is evident that a desperate and impoverished Russia requires external assistance for this war to persist.” Any nation offering support to Russia’s aggression is thus extending Russia’s unlawful conflict.
Nonetheless, Barbara asserts that Russia’s desperation will not undermine our commitment to assist Ukraine in exercising its right to self-defense in accordance with the UN Charter, as well as to safeguard its populace and sovereignty.
