Moscow, 12 March 2022 (TDI): President of Russia, Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected President of Hungary, Katalin Novak and President of South Korea, Yoon Seok-Youl. Likewise, Kremlin’s official website published congratulatory messages on Friday.

Congratulatory Message to Hungary President 

President Putin’s congratulatory message to Hungarian President Novak read as follows:

“Please accept my warmest congratulations on your election as Hungarian president. I expect that your activities as president will contribute to boosting mutually beneficial ties between Russia and Hungary. I wish you success, good health and well-being”.

First Female President of Hungary

Katalin Éva Novak, age 44, has been elected in the 2022 presidential election. She has become the first-ever female President of Hungary. In addition, she portrayed her success in the election as “a victory for all women”.

Besides, Novak will be the successor of Janos Ader, who has held the presidential office since 2012. Novak will assume the office around May 10 after Ader’s term expires.

Congratulations to the newly elected President of South Korea

Russian Presiden Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to South Korea’s New President-elect Yoon Suk-Yeol. Furthermore, he expressed his hopes for prosperous bilateral ties for the betterment of the people of both countries. Besides, Putin also expressed his concerns for the security of the Korean Peninsula.

Russia-South Korea Relations

South Korea and Russia have established diplomatic ties since 1991. They signed a protocol providing for regular visits of defence officials and naval vessels between Russia and South Korea. Since then, both sides have enhanced focus on increasing cooperation between two countries.

Additionally, leadership in Moscow considers South Korea as an important economic partner as well as an investor. It is of great importance for the Russian Far East is an economically underdeveloped zone.
