Bucharest, 27 July 2022 (TDI): Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al Safadi discussed bilateral relations in Bucharest on 26 July.
They also focused on cooperation in the field of agriculture, food security, energy, and information technology.
“We’ll continue to focus on deliverables on trade, agriculture, education, tourism&cybersecurity,” Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu wrote on Twitter.

Romania will provide 16 scholarships in the field of Medical science. They also discussed food security and the export of wheat to Jordon.
The Foreign Minister of Jordan Ayman Al Safadi called it an” Excellent meeting”.

The Romanian Foreign Minister also called Jordon an important security and trade ally in the Middle East.

Moreover, The Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi also met Marcel Ciolacu, President of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies.

The two leaders discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries.

Signing a protocol
Aside from the meeting, the two countries also signed an amended protocol. This protocol is to extend cooperation in the field of education, culture, tourism, and information. It also includes an increase in the number of medical scholarships for Jordanian students from 10 to 26 scholarships.

Bilateral Relations
The relations between the two countries have always been cordial in both political and economic fields. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an important ally of Romania in the Middle east region.
The two countries established diplomatic relations on 2 April 1965. In 1974, the two countries also opened diplomatic missions at the level of the Embassy.
