DOHA, (TDI): Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, held discussions with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy on Monday, focusing on the ongoing situations in Gaza and Syria.
According to a statement from the Qatari Foreign Ministry, bin Abdulrahman addressed bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly the crises in Gaza and Syria, during his phone call with Lammy.
Qatar, along with Egypt and the U.S., has been involved in mediating a ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement between Israel and Hamas to end the conflict in Gaza, which has claimed more than 45,800 lives, mostly women and children, since October 7, 2023. However, progress has been hindered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s refusal to halt the war.
