Qatar, Iran denounces renewed Israeli aggression in Gaza

-

Doha, 2 December 2023(TDI): Qatar expresses deep regret over the resumption of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip after the humanitarian ceasefire ended without any agreement to extend it.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported about the ongoing talks between Qatar and the two sides, with the aim of resuming the humanitarian ceasefire. Meanwhile, Qatar is committed to continuing efforts and will do whatever is necessary to restore peace.

In addition, the Ministry stressed that this ongoing bombing on the Gaza Strip has slowed down mediation efforts and increased the humanitarian crisis in the Strip following the ceasefire’s expiration.

This has escalated the humanitarian crisis and urges the international community to take immediate action to put an end to the aggression.

The State of Qatar emphasizes its rejection of all forms of civilian targeting, collective punishment, and attempts to forcibly displace and relocate people. The focus is on advocating for the protection of civilians amid the conflict.

Health officials reported that dozens of Palestinians have been killed since Israel began attacks on Gaza after the truce ended, with the Israeli army distributing leaflets warning southern Gaza’s people to evacuate and giving alerts to the start of a new operation.

These reports state that at least five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air raid on two residential buildings in Rafah this morning, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza to at least 37.

According to an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Israel has begun “a new round of killing” in Gaza “with the continued support” of the US government.

Nasser Kanaani spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Iran, reported that Israel, the United States, and “a few governments that support this apartheid regime” hold “political and legal responsibility for the continuation of the aggression and massacre.”

He added that Zionist criminals launched a new campaign of destruction after the murder of 15,000 Palestinians. They initiated a new campaign of slaughter and destruction in response to the US government’s continued support.
