Putin praises Russian athletes for winning gold medals at Tokyo Olympics


Tokyo, 3 August 2021 (TDI): Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, praised tennis players Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrei Rublev for winning gold medal in tennis mixed doubles at the 2020 Olympic Games.

On 1 August, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Andrey Rublev of the ROC won the gold medal in the mixed doubles by defeating compatriots Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev.

On court at Ariake Tennis Centre, Pavlyuchenkova and Rublev won the first set 6-3, But they lost the second set 6(5)-7 before winning the third 13-11.
