Moscow, 11 September 2021 (TDI): Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, held a joint news conference with Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, after a detailed meeting.
President Putin stressed that Belarus is a good neighbor and our closest ally. Moreover, Moscow-Minsk cooperation is on the principles of mutual respect, support, and consideration of each other’s interests. Both sides are also working for the formation of uniform financial and energy markets, and transport infrastructure. Also, the development and implementation of a common industrial and agricultural policy.
Both sides highlighted the importance of implementing union state programs. These programs include forming a single monetary policy in the future, implementing currency regulation, and integrating national payment systems. Also, they will ensure fair competition and boost business activity.
Russian and Belarusian businesses will be allowed to expand their activities across the Union State, which will be signed before December 2023. Also, establishing new joint ventures and boosting their export potential.
