Beijing, 11 November 2022 (TDI): President of China, Xi Jinping will attend the 17th G20 Leaders Summit on the invitation of the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo from 14 to 17 November 2022 in Bali, Indonesia.

According to the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, on the invitation of the APEC 2022 Chair; Thailand, the Chinese President will attend the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) Economic Leaders Meeting.

APEC Economic Leaders Meeting will last from 18 to 19 November 2022 in Bangkok. President Xi will visit Thailand from 17 to 19 November, the statement noted. The motto of this year’s APEC Economic Leaders Meeting is “Open. Connect. Balance.”

According to the statement, President Xi Jinping on sideline events of the G20 Leaders Summit and APEC Economic Leaders Meeting will meet world leaders and hold bilateral talks.

Also, the President of China will hold a bilateral meeting with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, the statement added.

Moreover, President will discuss bilateral and other mutual concerns with the President of the USA; Joe Biden, the President of Senegal; Macky Sall, and the President of Argentina; Alberto Fernández.

Among other leaders at the summit, President Xi Jinping will meet them upon request, the statement proclaimed.

G20 Leaders Summit

The 2022 G20 Heads of the State and Government Summit will be the 17th edition and chaired by Indonesia. Under the Presidency of Indonesia motto of G20 in 2022 is “Recover together, Recover Stronger”.

Nineteen member states and the European Union (EU) of Group of 20 (G20) will gather in  Bali to discuss global health architecture, sustainable energy transition, and digital transformation.

APEC Economic Leaders Metting

Furthermore, Thailand will chair the 2022 APEC Economic Leaders Meeting taking place from 18 to 19 November in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok.

The discussion among 21 members of APEC will focus on the theme “Open. Connect. Balance”. Priorities of 2022 APEC are “open to all opportunities, connect in all dimensions, and balance in all aspects.”
