Colombia declares cutting ties with Israel
Previously, the Palestinian President welcomed announcement by Colombian President Gustavo Petro of his country’s decision to sever diplomatic relations with Israel.
The Colombian President’s decision appeared in the light of grave violations of international law and international legitimacy by Israel.
“Here before you, the government of change, the President of the Republic, informs you that tomorrow diplomatic relations will be broken with the state of Israel for having a genocidal president. Long live the government of change,” he told boisterous crowd of supporters in Colombia.
President Petro reiterated that “killing the Palestinian people means killing humanity.”
With regards to this, the Palestinian President affirmed that Israel cannot continue genocide it is practicing against the Palestinians despite the issuance of Security Council Resolution No. 2728 calling for an immediate ceasefire and International Court of Justice imposing emergency measures against it.
