Islamabad, 6 September 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani had a telephonic conversation. Both officials exchanged their views on the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan pointed out the humanitarian and refugee crisis that can emerge if Afghanistan remains economically unstable. He, then stressed, that the international community should remain positively engaged and play a proactive role in bringing stability to Afghanistan.
Khan also expressed his desire to build up economic and political ties with Qatar and appreciated the efforts put by Qatar for its assistance and support to Pakistan in the recent pandemic situation. Both leaders look forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation, work for progress and development areas, and to support each other in regional issues.
