Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to approve the appointments of 19 ambassadors and consuls general of Pakistan for different countries.
The Foreign Office has forwarded a summary to PM Shehbaz for the appointment of new diplomats, according to a local news channel.
Rahim Hayat Qureshi, currently serving as Secretary Board of Investment (BOI), is set to be appointed as ambassador in Brussels, home of the EU headquarters.
Asima Rabbani will be appointed as ambassador to the Philippines while Abdul Hameed Bhutta will be designated as envoy to Japan.

Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, who also served as Foreign Office spokesperson, will be appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to Indonesia.
Najeeb Durrani will take charge as ambassador to Ghana.
Moreover, Moazzam Shah will be appointed as ambassador to South Korea, Syed Adil Gilani as ambassador to Morocco and Malik Muhammad Farooq as ambassador to South Africa.
Tariq Karim and Aqsa Nawaz will be appointed as ambassadors to African nations.

Syed Haider Shah will serve as ambassador to the Netherlands, Shehryar Akbar as ambassador to Czech Republic, Amir Shaukat as ambassador to Egypt and Marghoob Saleem Butt as ambassador to Switzerland.
Meanwhile, Zaman Mehdi will be appointed as consul general in Chicago, Tanveer Bhatti as consul general in the Chinese city of Chengdu, Wajid Hashmi as consul general in Melbourne and Imtiaz Gondal as consul general in Manchester.
