PM bars senior bureaucrats from foreign study tours

Islamabad (TDI): The federal government has prohibited senior bureaucrats, who are attending the National Management Course, from going on foreign study tours.

The Establishment Division, after approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ban foreign study tours under National Management Course (NMC), has issued the notification, daily The News reported on Friday.

Section Officer of Training Wing in the Establishment Division has officially conveyed the decision, pertaining to the foreign tours, to Rector National School of Public Policy Lahore.

The NSPP had wrote to the Establishment Division and sought permission for foreign study tours of NMC participants. In reply, the NSPP was asked, “the PM has banned foreign study tours with an immediate effect.”

It was made clear by the Establishment Division that the NSPP must not only cancel the proposed foreign tours of participants of 121st NMC, but also not to arrange any such tours in future.

Citing sources the report added that the decision was taken to save foreign exchange.
