Moreover, the national carrier has also decided to reactivate three grounded aircraft.
The move will increase its active fleet from 16 to 19.
The development comes weeks after the European Union Authority for Safety (EASA) lifted the ban on PIA, allowing the national carrier to resume flight operations to its most lucrative route after a four-year gap.

Following the development, the PIA announced the resumption of direct flights to Europe from January 10, 2025.
“We have received approval for the first flight schedule we submitted,” said PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez Khan. He added that the airline will open bookings on December 9 for a Boeing 777 flight to Paris, scheduled for January 10.
The ban, imposed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the UK, followed a scandal regarding the validity of pilots’ licenses, which arose after a plane crash that killed 97 people.
