Phone Call between Imran Khan and Tajik President

Islamabad, 2 October 2021 (TDI): A telephone call was held between Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan. Prime Minister, Imran khan thanked Tajik President for his hospitality to the Pakistani delegation during his visit to Dushanbe last month.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with existing bilateral cooperation. Also, promised to strengthen close ties in the future. Both parties talked about the current situation in Afghanistan. Moreover, shared each other’s contribution to peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed addressing the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people as a priority. Moreover, both sides highlighted the importance of economic engagement in Afghanistan to avert possible Afghan crises in the future.
