Manila, 17 April 2023 (TDI): Noralyn Jubaira Baja, Philippines Ambassador to Namibia, presented her credentials to Namibian President Hage Geingob, certifying her as the Philippines’ non-resident envoy to Namibia.

The event was held on April 13, 2023, at the State House in Windhoek, Namibia. Vivian Barrera, Attaché and Cultural Officer escorted her.

Ambassador Baja communicated to President Geingob the heartfelt welcomes of the Philippine government and people, emphasizing that the Philippines hopes to enhance its involvement with Namibia, particularly in economic cooperation.

The Ambassador and President Geingob discussed ways to strengthen ties between the Philippines and Namibia, particularly in the economic sphere.

The Ambassador noted that the Philippines is committed to deepening its engagement with Namibia in the areas of trade and investment.

The Philippines intends to strengthen its involvement with Namibia, notably in commercial relations, according to Ambassador Noralyn Jubaira Baja.

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) conducted a brief interview with the Ambassador after the event.

The Namibian President was presented with the credentials of ten Ambassadors, six of them are non-resident Ambassadors located in Pretoria.

The ceremony, which was held at the Hon. Geingob’s official residence in Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, began with a formal welcome from the President.

After exchanging pleasantries, Ambassador Santos officially presented her credentials to President Geingob and declared her intent to pursue diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Geingob thanked the Ambassador for her efforts and expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening the ties between the nations.

President shared his thoughts on the potential of collaboration between the Philippines and Namibia and discussed upcoming initiatives the two nations can take part in.

The Ambassador also had the opportunity to attend a reception hosted by the President in her honor.

There, Baja had the chance to meet and interact with key government officials and exchange ideas to further boost their countries’ relationships.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Santos congratulated the President and the government of Namibia for their continued commitment to fostering peace and development in the region.

Baja further expressed her intention to continue working towards the mutual benefit of both countries.

The meeting ultimately strengthened ties between the Philippines and Namibia and solidified a strong bond between the two countries.

The Ambassador’s visit marked a new chapter in the two nations’ diplomatic relationship and is a testament to their shared commitment to diplomacy and mutual advancement.
