PBC co-hosts Webinar on “Pakistan-Bangladesh Free Trade Agreement”

Islamabad/ Dhaka, 2 October 2021 (TDI): The Pakistan Business Council (PBC) co-hosted a webinar in collaboration with High Commission for Pakistan in Dhaka on the “Pakistan-Bangladesh Free Trade Agreement.”

The webinar was a follow-up study on the Free Trade Agreement between Pakistan and Bangladesh. It aimed to discuss the latest rounds of talks between the two states regarding trade and investment. Islamabad and Dhaka have recently expressed increased interest in revisiting the idea of establishing an FTA between the two nations. With Bangladesh’s LDC designation set to expire in 2026, the government is seeking to trade deals to maintain market access in major markets.

High Commissioner for Pakistan, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, and President UN Global Compact Network Pakistan, Majyd Aziz also participated. They talked about the policies and ways that need to introduce in order to enhance bilateral trade.
