Geneva, 1 March 2022 (TDI): Riyad al-Maliki, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Palestine met with the Federal Minister of Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shireen Mazari.
The meeting was held in Geneva on the sidelines of the meetings of the 49th Session of the Human Rights Council of United Nations (UN). During the meeting, Minister Al-Maliki appreciated the principled stances of Pakistan.

He expressed gratitude for the unconditional support of Pakistan for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people as well as its various initiatives in this regard.
Dr. Al-Maliki briefed Minister Mazari on the situation in Palestine along with the increasing escalation of violations committed by the occupation against the people of Palestine.
In particular, he shed light on the forced displacement targeting the city of Jerusalem. Likewise, he highlighted the settler colonization of the Palestinian land in all regions.
Along these lines, he also briefed the Pakistani Minister regarding the suffocating and unjust siege of the innocent Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian Foreign Minister also touched upon the need to expand cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
This collaboration will encompass partnerships between the two under the ambit of international organizations to hold the Israeli occupation responsible for violations.
In addition, he also underscored the importance of joint effort at the level of the United Nations and international organizations, along with expanding joint cooperation that includes health, education, culture, and other sectors.
Dr. Al-Maliki also expressed special thanks to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, and the Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi. He stressed that he was looking forward to his visit to Pakistan at the end of this month.
The Palestinian Foreign Minister will be coming to Pakistan to participate in the ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Dr. Shireen Mazari, the Pakistani Minister on her part reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the legitimate rights of Palestine.
Pakistan recognizes the necessity to provide vital support to enable the Palestinian people to for their legitimate rights. Lastly, the two sides also agreed to cooperate at all levels for ending the injustice inflicted upon the people of Palestine.
