Dushanbe, 16 September 2021 (TDI): At Dushanbe, Federal Minister for information and Broadcasting Government of Pakistan Chaudhry Fawad Hussain outlined Pakistan’s perception of the regional economy. While talking to the media he said that Pakistan aims to connect the Central Asian (CA) Countries and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Fawad explained that Pakistan wants to connect Gwadar and Karachi (cities of Pakistan) via Tashkent (city of Uzbekistan), then Dushanbe (city of Tajikistan), and Kazakhstan via Mazar-i-Sharif (city of Afghanistan). He also pointed out that all Central Asian states will be connected by train and road networks under this project, which will increase the connectivity among the region.
He said that Pakistan has been urging Central Asian states to connect with CPEC even before the recent development in Afghanistan.
