Doha, 24 August 2022 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, visited the FIFA World Cup Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, and reviewed the preparations for hosting Football World Cup 2022.
The officials gave Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a briefing on the FIFA World Cup 2022 preparations and related facilities, at the stadium. The Prime minister praised the efforts made by Qatar to construct cutting-edge facilities for the sporting event.

In addition, Prime Minister wished the people and government of Qatar a resounding success in the planning of the huge event. The Football world cup will begin in 100 days.
According to Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistanis play a significant part in constructing the essential World Cup infrastructure. Pakistanis take pride in the fact that their country produced the FIFA World Cup 2022 match football, ‘Al-Rihla’.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Wednesday. They discussed the bilateral ties and strategies to strengthen collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar.
Both nations decided to deepen bilateral cooperation in several areas at the conference at Diwan-e-Amiri. A delegation led by the prime minister and members of his cabinet was present in the meeting.
Pakistan-Qatar Relations
The two states enjoy close and cordial fraternal ties, since the establishment of their diplomatic relations in the early 1970s.
Moreover, the relations between Pakistan and Qatar are based on mutual trust and understanding, and close cooperation. They collaborate in various sectors to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields of bilateral interest.
In addition, Pakistan and Qatar also have a contract for security services for the Football World Cup that is being held in Qatar. In accordance with the agreement, Pakistan would send military personnel to Qatar to assist in securing the FIFA World Cup.
