Dushanbe, 16 September 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan met with Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Dushanbe today. The meeting was on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting.
The two leaders discussed significant regional and international concerns as well as bilateral relations. They reaffirmed their commitment to improving Pakistan-Kazakhstan ties in a variety of areas. That included trade, investment, and transportation. Both parties agreed to increase the number of high-level political meetings. Imran Khan invited the Kazakh leader to visit Pakistan. President Tokayev also invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to visit Kazakhstan.
Imran Khan mentioned that through the “Vision Central Asia” policy, Pakistan is determined to upgrade engagement with Central Asian countries. He stressed the importance of connectivity. Moreover, he also focused on his vision of socio-economic development. By emphasizing the importance of moving the country’s focus from geopolitics to geo-economics. Both parties decided to improve connection via land and airlines to foster regional integration.
