Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder Steals Spotlight at Dubai Airshow

Dubai (TDI): Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jet has attracted significant international attention at the Dubai Airshow 2025, where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with a friendly country for the procurement of the advanced aircraft, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The military’s media wing described the MoU as “another significant milestone in Pakistan’s growing defense and industrial partnerships,” highlighting rising confidence in the country’s aviation sector.

The announcement coincides with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, holding a series of meetings with his counterparts from friendly nations on the sidelines of the airshow.

“Chief of the Air Staff held comprehensive discussions with Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defense UAE, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander of UAE Air Force and Air Defense,” the ISPR statement said. The talks focused on enhancing cooperation in advanced training, fostering collaboration in emerging aerospace technologies, and improving mechanisms for operational coordination.

The UAE military leadership commended Pakistan Air Force’s modernization efforts and its growing indigenous capabilities. Pakistan’s delegation at the Dubai Airshow 2025 includes the JF-17 Thunder Block-III and the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft.
