Pakistan’s Foreign Minister meets Turkmenistan’s President

Ashgabat, 26 August 2021 (TDI): Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, had a meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Turkmenistan. The Pakistani envoy to Turkmenistan and foreign ministry officials welcomed Qureshi. On Wednesday, he began his diplomacy tour to four nations, including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran, to share Pakistan’s position on the current developments in Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to improving economic ties with Turkmenistan through different projects, including TAPI. Both parties reviewed the evolving situation in Afghanistan. They agreed to closely monitor developments in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister stated his country’s support for an inclusive political settlement in Afghanistan.
