Helsinki, 26 August 2021- (TDI): The Baltic Sea Day is celebrated each year on the last Thursday of the month of August in the honor of the great sea.
In this regard, various rallies, events, and awareness campaigns are held to encourage people to enjoy this sea that belongs to all and to take concrete and valid actions for preserving the sea from pollutants and other toxic materials that arms nature. Baltic Sea Day is a great time to raise awareness about the health of the Baltic Sea and transparent science-based tools that allow to protect it.
The theme of this day is to highlight marine themes and encourage people to take concrete action for the Baltic Sea and its aquatic life. In Finland and other various countries around the coast of the Baltic Sea, various events and activities are organized throughout the day.
