Chicago, 5 August 2022 (TDI): Pakistanis around the globe observed “Youm-e-Istehsal” today. Keeping this in view, Pakistan’s Embassies in the United States (US) also commemorated the day.

Youm-e-Istehsal

Pakistan announced that it will observe Youm-e-Istehsal on 5th August. The purpose of this day is to mark the third year of the Indian military siege in Kashmir.

India has illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by immoral and unconstitutional means. Kashmir has been a land of dispute between India and Pakistan since both countries’ independence.

Both countries claim their authority on land but recently, India has illegally made the land of Jammu and Kashmir their part and is administering a military lockdown in the seized area.

The purpose of this day is also to show the Kashmiri brothers that Pakistan stands with them in their fight for freedom and independence.

Moreover, it will also bring the attention of international countries to the atrocities Indian forces are committing on the land.

Photographic Exhibition in Chicago

A two-day photographic exhibition was inaugurated by Consulate General in Chicago, Tariq Karim. The exhibition displayed pictures of Kashmir and paintings too.

A number of picture quotes were also presented in the exhibition to bring attention to the needs of the Kashmiri people.

Tariq Karim while explaining the meaning behind the pictures highlighted the oppression faced by Kashmiris and called for immediate action to be taken in their support.

Pakistan Embassy in the US

On this occasion, Pakistan’s Embassy in the US also arranged a webinar. The Webinar, “Jammu and Kashmir needs immediate international attention” will be held at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.

The purpose of the webinar is to show solidarity with Kashmiris. Moreover, during the webinar, the need for international partners to help Jammu and Kashmir get freedom will also be highlighted.

The webinar will be hosted by Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US. Wajid Khan, Parliament Member of the United Kingdom, Shamim Shawl, Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, and Kjell Magne Bondevik, former Prime Minister of Norway will also be in attendance.

Photographic Exhibition in Canada

Pakistan’s High Commission in Canada also arranged a photographic session on the occasion. The pictures displayed in the exhibition highlight human rights violation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Visitors attending the exhibition emphasized the importance of giving Kashmiris freedom to choose their fate. They called for United Nations and other international organizations to help the people living in a prison for three years since India’s illegal occupation.

Visitors also condemned India for its atrocities. They explained that India stands as one of the largest democracies in the whole world.

However, it is restricting others’ freedom to choose and live independently with their basic rights. The day was observed by many people around the globe in order to show their support for Kashmir.
