Ouagadougou, 5 August 2022 (TDI): Albert Ouédraogo, the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso met with Youssef Slaoui, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Burkina Faso.

The Moroccan Ambassador stated during the meeting that his country looked forward to strengthening this bilateral cooperation.

Agenda of the Meeting

Describing the relations between Morocco and Burkina Faso, Youssef Slaoui called it “Authentic African cooperation rooted in South-South cooperation”.

He further stated that “We are delighted with our excellent relations which are historic, dynamic, and multidimensional”.

They also appreciated the recent progress in bilateral cooperation. The Moroccan Ambassador also mentioned the achievements and progress made in areas of common interest especially commercial and economic.

Both the representatives discussed the ambition of both nations. According to them, both nations aim to work together with prosperity.

Along with this working together to enhance such cooperation in the future was also a primary goal. Bridging the gaps and bringing people of their nations closer were among those ambitions.

Burkina Faso and Morocco’s Bilateral Relations

The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso and the Moroccan Ambassador also explored various future aspects. The progress of the implementation of the agreement on abolishing visas among both states was also discussed.

This agreement would allow the citizens of both states to shortly visit each other’s countries without the visa protocol.

The Ambassador of Morocco also stated that in terms of diplomatic exchanges both Morocco and Burkina Faso have great diplomatic ties and agendas. The cooperation regarding various projects and visits that both states share is worth noticing.

Overall the meeting revolved around the discussion of strengthening the current bilateral relations. It ended on the note of looking forward to continuing this collaboration with various mutual projects.
