Rawalpindi, 10 February 2022 (TDI): Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Nadeem Raza, is on an official visit to Oman. Whilst there, he called on the leadership of Oman.
Upon arrival at Muaskar Al Murtafa Camp a smartly turned-out guard presented guard of honor to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza.
Diplomatic Engagements of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee
His meetings include diplomatic engagement with Sayyid Shihab Bin Tariq Bin Taimour Al Said, the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs of Oman, and General Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Namani, Omani Minister of the Royal Office.
Aside from that General Nadeem Raza also met with Vice Admiral Abdullah Bin Khamis Al Raisi, the Chief of Staff of Sultan’s Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Bin Mohsin Al Rahbi, the Commander of Royal Navy of Oman as well as Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, the Commander of Royal Air Force of Oman.
The meetings under the ambit of defense diplomacy were held separately. During the meetings, both sides discussed various areas of interest pertaining to bilateral cooperation. Issues related to security, counter-terrorism, and the prevalent regional environment were discussed between the two sides.
Afghanistan crisis was especially discussed. Likewise, the two sides also touched upon measures to enhance military engagements between Pakistan and Oman so as to forge deeper strategic ties.
General Nadeem Raza stated that Pakistan and Oman are two fraternal Islamic countries that are constructively committed to boosting bilateral defense relations. In this regard, the two are also adopting various measures to foster peace and stability in the region.
Omani dignitaries on their part appreciated the role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the capacity building of the Omani Armed Forces. Moreover, they acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war against terrorism.
