Pakistan’s Ambassador presents credentials to European Council President
Pakistan’s Ambassador presented her credentials to the President of the European Council at a ceremony held in Brussels.

Brussels, 10 October 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, Amna Baloch presented her credentials to the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, at a ceremony held in Brussels, on October 10.

In this diplomatic exchange, Ambassador extended cordial greetings and well-wishes on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

President Michel reciprocated these sentiments, signifying the warmth shared between the leaderships of Pakistan and the EU.

During their meeting, both sides emphasized the profound significance of Pakistan’s relationship with the EU, characterizing it as a strategic and multifaceted partnership.

They underscored the pivotal role of ongoing dialogue in nurturing a relationship that is mutually advantageous.

Ambassador updated President Michel on the humanitarian situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) during their conversation.

She shared her viewpoint on the crucial balancing function that the EU can do in the shifting geopolitical context.

The meetings came to a close with a common desire to strengthen the ties between the EU and Pakistan during her impending diplomatic assignment in Brussels.

Earlier, Raschad Al-Khafaji, Director Liaison Office Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Brussels, visited Amna Baloch earlier on October 6.

The two parties engaged in fruitful conversation and explored potential areas for collaboration in Brussels during the meeting.

They also talked about the ongoing activities of the FAO in Pakistan.

Amna Baloch also held a discussion with Rector Rik Van de Walle of Ghent University, on October 3.

In the discussion, they addressed continued prospects for collaboration, notably in the area of knowledge partnerships.

They also looked into ways to further their connections, such as possible partnerships with specialized research consortiums.

Additionally, during her tour, Ambassador Baloch spoke with Pakistani students.

The Ambassador promised the kids of her unwavering support and dedication to meeting their needs after they voiced their present worries and difficulties.

The Permanent Representative of Croatia to the EU, Ambassador Irena Andrassy, and Ambassador Amna Baloch met separately.

They discussed a variety of topics of interest to both parties and indicated a desire to look into potential new areas of collaboration.
