Pakistani companies participate in Heimtextil Exhibition 2023

Islamabad, 31 October 2023 (TDI): More than 260 Pakistani companies showcased their excellence in the international Heimtextil exhibition of 2023, an annual textile trade fair held in Frankfurt, Germany.

Despite economic challenges in the country, these companies participated in the event from January 10–13, 2023, following a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Heimtextil 2023 was a remarkable gathering of textile industry professionals, with 2,400 exhibitors representing over 120 countries.

Pakistan’s presence at the event reached a historic high, positioning the country as the fourth-largest participant globally after China, India, and Turkey.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), a division associated with the Ministry of Commerce, organized the Pakistani pavilion at Heimtextil 2023.

Pakistani companies displayed a wide range of textile products, including bedsheets, towels, kitchen linens, and various other home textile goods.

Despite economic challenges in Pakistan, the exhibition provided new opportunities for local exporters. The economic situation has made it challenging for Pakistani exporters to fulfill import orders.

According to Hunain Hamid, the director of Habib Calico, Pakistani firms experienced a 40% increase in visitors compared to previous editions.

Bilal Qasim, the Export and Marketing Director of Zaman Textile Mills, expressed satisfaction with the event and said, “The fair was good, and we attracted buyers from Italy, Portugal, and many other countries.”

Many big names from the Pakistani home textile industry were present at Heimtextil 2023, including Nishat Mills, Nishat Chunian, Al Karam Textiles, and Sadaqat Textile.

Additionally, numerous small and medium-sized companies under the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan’s banner showcased their products, demonstrating the diversity and strength of the Pakistani textile industry.
