Washington D.C., 5 December 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States of America Asad Majeed Khan along with Pakistan’s Press and Culture Officer Maliha Zargham visited Alice Deal Middle School in Washington D.C. This visit was done to provide children with a platform to meet the Pakistani Ambassador and learn about the culture and beauty of Pakistan.

The organizer of the visit was, Pakistan’s Press and Cultural Officer Maliha Zargham, ‘the District of Columbia Schools’ following the Embassy Adoption Program. These three organizers worked together to organize a visit that would enrich the children of the United States of America with the cultural values and morals of Pakistan.

On Pakistan’s Ambassador’s arrival, the children of Alice Deal Middle School honored him with a poster that had the image of Pakistan’s Flag on it along with a text welcoming the Ambassador in the school. Asad Majeed Khan interacted with the children and introduced them to Pakistan’s cuisine and the beautiful landscapes of the country.

Moreover, the ambassador discussed the country’s cultural heritage. This interaction would teach the children about the diverse cultures of the different provinces of Pakistan. Pakistan is a country enriched with various cultures and different cuisines. The beauty of Pakistan is that every province has its beauty and cultural worth.

Embassy Adoption Program

Embassy Adoption Program is a partnership between the DC public schools and the Washington Performing Arts. The goal of this program is to teach the children of the USA about the importance of cross-cultural interaction and values.

Embassy Adoption Program is pairing embassies of different countries in the USA with different schools to teach 5th and 6th-grade children with cross-cultural communication, projects regarding cultural analysis, and enrichment activities. This pairing is yearlong learning from 2021-2022.

This learning would enable children to respect different cultures and explore different cuisines and activities of dynamic cultures.
