Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan on Monday strongly criticized the recent remarks made by Indian leadership saying that they reflected a deeply troubling mindset that prioritized hostility over peace.
The rebuke from Islamabad came in response to a series of provocative statements from New Delhi, including one from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs’ spokesperson on May 29, who claimed that any talks on Kashmir could only take place if Pakistan “hands over Azad Jammu and Kashmir.”
Reacting to the comments, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said such remarks revealed a deliberate attempt to distort reality and paint Pakistan as the source of regional instability.
“The world is not unaware of India’s history of aggressive behavior,” Khan said. “There is clear evidence of its involvement in subversive activities inside Pakistan. No amount of empty rhetoric can cover up these facts.”
Khan underscored that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains at the heart of tensions in South Asia, calling it a critical issue that endangers regional stability.

“Pakistan will continue to stand by the people of Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions,” he affirmed.
He dismissed India’s confrontational tone, stating it only proves the futility of warmongering and threats. “India cannot achieve its objectives through coercive tactics. These approaches are counterproductive and dangerous.”
Khan reiterated that Pakistan remains open to meaningful and constructive dialogue, but made it clear that the country would take all necessary steps to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He concluded by stressing that regional peace cannot be achieved without maturity, mutual respect, and a willingness to address the root causes of conflict.
“Responsible diplomacy, not belligerence, is what this region needs right now,” the spokesperson said.
