Islamabad, 26 January 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a telephonic discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al Safadi.

The two Foreign Ministers reevaluated bilateral relations along with exchanging views on matters pertaining to regional issues. During the phone call, it was acquiesced to strengthen efforts for further consolidation as well as expansion of bilateral ties.
Pakistan Jordan Ties
Pakistan and Jordan enjoy fraternal and amicable relations that stem from commonality in faith and values. The two countries closely cooperate for mutual benefit. Bilateral collaboration between the two encompasses regional as well global issues of mutual interest.

The relationship between the countries can be traced back to the time when first contacts were established in the 1970s and 1980s. Eventually, they grew stronger from the mid-1990s onward.
The King of Jordan, King Abdullah applauded the “deep, strong as well as historical relations” between the two countries. In addition, he also affirmed the keenness of his country to consolidate its ties with Pakistan for the benefit of the two peoples.
Pakistan and Jordan also maintain close people-to-people interaction. There are many Pakistani’s riding in Jordan. The people of Pakistan in Jordan are estimated to be up to 8,000, according to the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation.
