Pakistan embassy wishes on Tajikistan Armed Forces day

Dushanbe, 24 February 2024 (TDI): Tajikistan celebrated Armed Forces Day on 23rd February, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan extended warm wishes, honoring the zeal and bravery of Tajikistan’s Armed Forces.

Diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan date back to June 6, 1992. The President and Prime Minister of both countries have visited each other on several occasions.

The two countries have an Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, and technical Cooperation, which is one of the main mechanisms for the development of bilateral economic cooperation. In addition, political consultations between both countries are vigorous.

Emomali Rahmon’s message on Armed Forces Day

During a televised address, President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, extended his congratulations to the Tajik military.

“For more than three decades, military personnel have been protecting the independence and freedom of the Tajik state, the motherland’s borders, security, stability, and peaceful life of the people,” says the President’s congratulatory message released on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the formation of the Tajik National Army.

Emomali Rahmon highlighted that the country’s Armed Forces were created during the era of independence, and from their earlier days of formation, they took on the difficult and responsible task of restoring the constitutional order and protecting the freedom and independence of the country.

“I express my deep gratitude to the personnel of the Armed Forces, servicemen of other military structures, and officers of the law enforcement agencies for their faithful service for the benefit of the state and people of Tajikistan,” the message says.

Celebrations of Tajikistan Armed Forces Day

This year, there will be no military parade on this auspicious occasion of the anniversary of the Tajikistan National Army. Instead, a solemn gathering and festive concert are scheduled at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe.

Apart from that, various contests, sports activities, and meetings are being organized in MoD military units on the occasion of Tajik National Army Day.

Meanwhile, a number of activities dedicated to the anniversary of the Tajik national army have already been carried out in Dushanbe.

Thus, by the instruction of Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, the fourth military festival, dubbed “I Will Faithfully Serve the Country and the People,” officially opened in military unit 3502 of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Tajikistan on February 21.

This festival of friendship between officers, soldiers, and young people of draft age, totalling more than 2000 people, ran in all military units based in Dushanbe through February 22.

The military festival encompasses competitions between Dushanbe-based military units in mini football, Tajik national wrestling, volleyball, chess, and athletics.

The culminating phase of the military celebrations includes the awarding ceremony and closing ceremony, which take place at Kokhi Surush Business Centre.

Tajikistan’s National Army currently consists of Air and Air Defense Forces, Land Forces, and Mobile Forces. The Mobile Force of the Tajik Army was established in 2005 without an increase in the total strength of the country’s armed forces.

Additionally, the amalgamation of the Air and Air-Defense Forces took place in the same year.
