Islamabad, 4 January 2023 (TDI): The Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan in a statement on Wednesday strongly condemned the dastardly terrorist attack that took place earlier during the day at the Martyrs Cemetery of the provincial capital of Kerman, Iran.
The terrorist attack resulted in more than 100 deaths and number of people wounded, the explosion occurred near the ceremony to commemorate the top commander Qassem Soleimani on his 4th death anniversary, who was killed by a US drone in 2020.
The statement added that Pakistan extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the swift recovery of the injured.
Pakistan stands in full solidarity with the government and brotherly people of Iran in this hour of grief and tragedy.
Furthermore, is mentioned that Pakistan believes that terrorism is a menace and threat to regional and global peace and security. Moreover, it needs to be confronted through bilateral and regional cooperation.
The Interim Prime Minister of Pakistan, Anwar Ul Haq Kakar also expressed his sympathies and concerns regarding the attack in Iran. He said it is deeply saddening to learn about the huge loss of lives in terrorist attacks in Kerman.
In addition to this he commented that Pakistan condemns this heinous act and stands in solidarity with Iran. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Government and people of Iran at this challenging time.
In a statement by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Iran said that the evil and criminal enemies of the Iranian nation have once again created a tragedy and martyred substantial number of our people in Kerman in the fragrant atmosphere of the Martyr’s tombs.

He further stated that both hands stained with the blood of innocent people and the corrupt and evil minds that led them to this miscalculation will be the target of a severe pounding and a deserving retribution.
He warned the persons involved, “They should know that God Willing, this tragedy will be met with a harsh response.”
