Islamabad, 13 June 2022 (TDI): In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on 12 June, it severely condemned the Indian occupation forces’ brutal killings of the four innocent Kashmiri youth in Pulwama and Srinagar districts of IIOJK during a staged cordon and search operations.

The press release further stated that it is highly regrettable that cold-blooded targeting of Kashmiri youth has become a norm in the occupied territory.

More than 621 Kashmiris have been martyred by Indian occupation forces since India’s illegal and unilateral actions on 5 August 2019.

Indian troops in their latest acts of state terrorism have martyred four Kashmiri youth in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The troops martyred three youths during a cordon and search operation in the Drabgam area of Pulwama district, another youth Adil Parray was martyred by the troops in the Kreesbal Palpora area of Srinagar district on Sunday.

The authorities also suspended internet services in the two areas. Meanwhile, Indian police during house raids arrested three youth in the Srinagar area.

This year alone 98 extra-judicial killings have been recorded in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan has consistently been drawing the attention of the international community toward the atrocities being perpetrated by Indian occupation forces to perpetuate its illegal occupation in IIOJK in complete defiance of international humanitarian law.

The statement by the Foreign Ministry conveyed that Pakistan reiterates its call for investigation of extra-judicial killings in IIOJK by establishing an independent Commission of Inquiry recommended by the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in its Kashmir reports of 2018 and 2019.

India must realize that layered lockdowns, brutal military sieges, and the use of indiscriminate force will not dampen the resolve of the Kashmiris struggling against illegal Indian occupation.

Pakistan also urges the international community to play its due role for a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
