Islamabad (TDI): Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ambreen Jan on Monday called on Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Iqbal Hussain Khan and discussed ways to strengthen media collaboration and people-to-people connections between the two countries, state-run APP reported.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
On the occasion, Ambreen Jan said both countries had longstanding diplomatic and cultural ties rooted in a shared history of cooperation across various fields.

She suggested that state media organizations from Pakistan and Bangladesh should extend collaboration for joint productions and news exchange.
She also suggested launching a journalist exchange program to allow media professionals from both countries to learn about each other’s perspectives and narratives on important issues.
High Commissioner Iqbal Hussain Khan appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote cooperation between the two countries.

He said the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh were like brothers. “In future, both countries should launch joint initiatives to further strengthen the bond.”
The two sides also discussed increasing the availability of Pakistani news and entertainment channels on Bangladeshi cable networks, as well as organizing film festivals and photographic exhibitions to enhance cultural exchanges.
