Pakistan Army Chief Arrives in Azerbaijan

Baku: June 21, 2021- (TDI):    President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday.

In an official statement, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Mr. Ali Alizada revealed that the President appreciated the principal position of Pakistan on the second Karabakh War and reiterated the full support of Azerbaijan to Pakistan on the Kashmir issue, based on justice, international law & brotherhood.  

Also discussed in the meeting were the issues of expanding military cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier this month, the Army Chief had a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Navy Commander at GHQ, Rawalpindi.  Mr. Alizada further stated that the Army Chief also met with the Minister of Defence and some good discussion on the two countries’ fraternal relations took place. The existing potentials were highlighted and the ways of further strengthening the bilateral military cooperation were also agreed upon. The meeting proved to be quite productive.In Baku, the Army Chief also paid a visit to the Alley of the Shahids (Martyrs) and saluted the martyrs. He stated that the victory of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh War is also a victory for every Pakistani as well.
