Kuwait, 12 June 2023 (TDI): Pakistan and Kuwait signed a defense agreement yesterday. This agreement was signed at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Kuwait.
The purpose of the agreement is to strengthen defense ties between both states. This agreement will serve to uplift the defense capabilities of both states.
Ambassador Malik Muhammad Farooq and Brigadier General Fawwaz Muhammad Alharabi were the signatories of the agreement from Pakistan’s and Kuwait’s sides, respectively.
At the time of the signing ceremony, a delegation from the Pakistan Army led by Major General Wasim Iftikhar Cheema and officers from Kuwait’s Army were also present.
Pakistan and Kuwait are two important countries in the Muslim world and share a long history of defense cooperation, which can be traced back to 1990 when Pakistan stood with Kuwait against the Iraqi invasion.
Since then, the two countries have continued to strengthen their military ties through joint exercises and training programs.
