Dubai, 2 October 2021 (TDI): Oman unveiled its pavilion, on Friday, at the Dubai Expo 2020. Mohsin bin Khamis al Balushi inaugurated the pavilion. He is the Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and Oman’s General Commissioner.
This year’s theme of the Dubai Expo is “Connecting Minds, Creating Future”. In accordance with the theme, the pavilion of the Sultanate is unique in its content and design. The inspiration for this year’s Omani pavilion is the frankincense tree. The frankincense tree has a great significance in the country’s history and trade. The Omani representative claimed that his pavilion adheres to the terms issued by the expo committee, for the year.
The theme of the pavilion encompasses the achievements of the Sultanate over the years in a wide array. It embodies the triumphs in scientific, cultural, economic, and social fields. The visitors to the pavilion will be apprised of Oman’s history through various ages.
The preparation of the pavilion commenced in 2016. It is three-story and has five sections. The covered area is 2200 square meters. The Sultanate’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Sayyid Ahmed bin Hilal al Busaidy also took part in the inauguration. The Head of Oman’s Commercial Office in Dubai, Shaikh Salim bin Musallam Al Katheeri, and the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ridha bin Jumaa al Saleh were also present for the occasion.
