Lebanon Minister of Energy meets the US Ambassador to Lebanon

Beirut, 2 October 2021 (TDI):  Tarek Fayad, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Lebanon met with Dorothy Shea, the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon. The meeting was held at the ministry office.

The meeting revolved around the issues of mutual interests. Bilateral relations and the role of the US were discussed in the meeting. The US has been supporting Lebanon during this crucial time, most notably in the domain of energy.  The Lebanese Minister on his part briefed the Ambassador about his meetings with Jordanian, Egyptian, and Syrian counterparts.

Traditionally, the US has sought to maintain close ties with Lebanon. The relationship between Lebanon and the US is based on bilateral security issues. The US has been providing monetary support to Lebanon as humanitarian aid.
