OIC Welcomes Inclusion of Israel in UN Blacklist of Perpetrators of Sexual Violence

Jeddah (TDI): The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued two strongly worded statements condemning Israeli actions in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon.

In a statement released on Sunday, the OIC welcomed the inclusion of Israeli occupation authorities and affiliated entities in the United Nations Secretary-General’s annual report on conflict-related sexual violence.

The report places those entities on a UN blacklist of parties suspected of committing sexual violence in conflict situations, based on evidence and documentation verified through established UN mechanisms.

The OIC described the move as a significant legal and humanitarian development, characterizing it as a victory for Palestinian victims and an important step toward justice, accountability, and ending impunity.

The organization said the UN report serves as a key international legal and political document highlighting alleged violations committed against Palestinian detainees and civilians.

It also reiterated calls for accountability for what it described as war crimes and acts of genocide in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The organization urged the international community to take concrete action to halt ongoing violations, prosecute those responsible under international criminal law, and ensure international protection for the Palestinian people.

In a separate statement issued on Monday, the OIC strongly condemned what it described as Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

The organization denounced incursions and attacks by Israeli forces, as well as the destruction of villages and archaeological sites in southern Lebanon.

According to the OIC, such actions constitute a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, international law, and international humanitarian law.

The General Secretariat warned that the continued attacks pose a serious threat to regional security and stability. Reaffirming its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, the OIC called on the international community to act immediately to halt the aggression and prevent further escalation.
