Phnom Penh, 8 January 2022 (TDI): Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen arrived in Myanmar yesterday for a two-day official state visit.

The Prime Minister arrived in Nay Pyi Taw after departing Phnom Penh International Airport at around 7:30 this morning.

He delivered the medical assistance donated by the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia to Myanmar. The aid will help them to fight against Covid 19.

Along these lines, the Cambodian head of the government became the first-ever foreign dignitary to visit Myanmar since the coup last year.

For that reason, Myanmar Foreign Minister, U Wunna Maung Lwin received the worthy guests from Cambodia at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

The medical package from Cambodia contained 3 million face masks, 200,000 masks N95, 100,000 goggles. While 30,000 PPE, 30,000 face shields, 3,000 safety plastic boots PR, 50 units of ventilator machines are additionally added to the package.

Moreover, 50 patient monitors plus accessories, and 50 units of Oxygen concentrators are also included in medical assistance.

Twice earlier, the Kingdom of Cambodia provided medical assistance to Southeast Asian countries in its combat against the Pandemic.

Premier Hun Sen will be staying in Myanmar until January 8, 2022. He, earlier last month, announced that he is scheduling a visit to Myanmar on January 7-8. The announcement came after the Premier had met with Myanmar’s Foreign Minister Lwin in Phnom Penh.

As a result, the military ruler of Myanmar, Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing invited the Cambodian Premier to visit his country.

During the state visit, the Cambodian Prime Minister also held a meeting with the Chairman of the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar General Min Aung Hlaing.

Finally, the two leaders discussed bilateral matters and decided to remain in coordination for further cooperation projects.
