Ulaanbaatar, 16 November 2021 (TDI): “Russia and Mongolia: Diplomatic Relations, Trade and Research Expedition” was organized to commemorate a century of ties between Mongolia and Russia.

Mongolia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Mongolia in Russia jointly arranged the event. Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences; is also the organizer of the event.

Andrei V. Golovnev, Director of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography, inaugurated the virtual event. He is also the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia.

The Counselor of the Embassy, whilst speaking on the occasion shed light on the 100-year history of modern diplomatic relations between the two countries. He highlighted the significance of strong bilateral ties. He expressed satisfaction with the successful launch of the virtual exhibition.

Russia and Mongolia established diplomatic relations in November 1921. The two have remained allies ever since and maintain regular diplomatic and economic ties. Both are members of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, as well.
