Hague, 10 September 2024 (TDI): A colorful Mango Festival was held at Pakistan House by the Pakistani Embassy in the Netherlands to commemorate Pakistan’s rich cultural legacy and the close commercial and diplomatic relations that exist between Netherlands and Pakistan.
Prominent representatives of the Dutch business community and the Pakistani community in the Netherlands were present at the occasion.
The ambassador of Pakistan to the Netherlands greeted guests and stressed the importance of the Pakistani mango, known as the “King of Fruits,” in promoting Pakistan around the world.
He pointed out that with over 2 million metric tons grown each year, Pakistan is the fourth-largest mango producer in the world.
The Ambassador said, “Our mangoes, from the golden Sindhri to Chaunsa, represent the diversity and richness of Pakistan’s agricultural sector.”

In this mango festival, he pointed out that Pakistan has solidified its position as a dependable and superior exporter to the European Union by becoming one of the primary providers of a wide range of agricultural products, such as rice, peanuts, and mangoes.
Moreover, the strengthening trade ties between Pakistan and the Netherlands were highlighted by the ambassador.
4% more goods were exported from Pakistan to the Netherlands in 2023–2024, totaling USD 1.93 billion in bilateral trade. Netherlands FDI inflows totaled USD 182 million to Pakistan.
He acknowledged the role that the Dutch and Pakistani business communities have played in developing closer ties between the two countries and extended gratitude to them for their continued investments in Pakistan.
With the goal of encouraging more cooperation between the two nations, the Embassy is actively organizing business delegations and collaborative projects.
The ambassador also commended the efforts of Dutch participants in the Food and Agricultural Products show that was recently conducted in Karachi.

Dutch importers and industry were asked by the ambassador to take part in TEXPO Pakistan 2024, which is set to take place in Karachi from October 23 to October 25.
Ambassador Tarar expressed gratitude to the Embassy staff and Trade and Investment Counselor Muhammad Shafiq Haider Virk for putting together the occasion.
Traditional Pakistani food was offered to the attendees, and they were thrilled to share their mango boxes—which they won through fortunate draw—with friends and family.
