Male, 1 October 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid congratulated the Nigerian Foreign Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama on Nigeria’s Independence Day.
The Maldivian Foreign Minister extended his good wishes to the people and the government of Nigeria on this happy occasion. This message is an encouragement to enhance bilateral relations from both sides. It will benefit the Maldives as well as Nigeria.
Nigeria has been willing to work with the Maldives in the areas of marine security and counter-terrorism. Moreover, Nigeria is willing to assist the Maldives in the field of education, particularly since both countries speak English.
