New York, 15 September 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, President-elect of the United Nations General Assembly held a meeting with Ms. Elisenda Vives Balmaña, Permanent Representative of Andorra.
Andorra is a landlocked state on the Iberian peninsula. The Representative mentioned that Andorra is committed to multilateralism despite being a microstate landlock country. Ms. Elisenda Vives Balmaña congratulated Abdulla Shahid on his appointment as President of the United Nations General Assembly. Both parties reaffirmed support on issues related to human rights, Covid-19, and climate change.
The agenda of the meeting was to cooperate in all areas of mutual interest. Also, strengthen bilateral relations among Andorra and Maldives.
