Jakarta, 19 October 2021 (TDI): The Malaysian Foreign Minister, Saifuddin Abdullah is on a maiden four-day official visit to Indonesia. He visited the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) to meet the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dato’ Paduka Lim Jock Hoi.
The two exchanged views on several issues, mainly on bolstering ASEC and ASEAN’s resilience amidst the prevalent regional & global challenges. During his visit, the Malaysian Foreign Minister also called on the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPRs) of ASEAN.

The agenda of the discussion at the Committee of Permanent Representatives was to deliberate upon post-COVID recovery, ASEAN centrality, travel corridor arrangements, enhancing roles of CPRs, digitization, and youth.
Apart from that, Saifuddin Abdullah also visited the new ASEAN Secretariat Building, ASEAN Gallery, Malaysia’s Country Room, and the Heritage Building. He lauded the hospitality of the ASEC team.
