Kuala Lumpur 9, September 2021 (TDI): Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia congratulates the Republic of Tajikistan on its 30th independence day. As Tajikistan commemorates its Declaration of Independence, the Foreign Ministry of Malaysia stated in its official tweet that it enjoys diplomatic relations with Tajikistan in 1992.
In September 1991, Tajikistan emerged as an independent nation after the dissolution of the Societ Union. It enjoys good relations with Malaysia and has signed a number of economic and social bilateral cooperation agreements such as Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Malaysia and the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP).
