Beirut, 5 October 2021 (TDI): Abdullah Bou Habib, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants received Rola Dashti, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The two met to discuss the situation of the country.
During the engagement, the support of ESCWA for Lebanon in the challenging environment afflicting the country was deliberated upon. Prevalently, Lebanon is facing a myriad of issues for which it needs economic and technical support.
The Lebanese Minister on his part underscored his state’s satisfaction with the expertise provided by the ESCWA in Beirut. He also appreciated the international organizations for actively contributing to help the country to resolve humanitarian and social problems. The country is also experiencing a financial crisis because of the issue of the port of Beirut.
